Lewis & Clark Bible Church was founded in the late 1940's and began as a small meeting in a local grange hall. Later it consolidated with another local church and moved to an old seed barn at the current site, just south of Astoria, Oregon. In the early 1970's the current facility was constructed as a church and Christian academy (later the academy moved to downtown Astoria). Through the years the appearance has changed, but the purpose has not.
Our Purpose
Lewis & Clark Bible Church exists to glorify God. Toward this end we endeavor to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ and to faithfully teach the word of God. We believe that Jesus Christ alone can meet the needs and satisfy the longings of the human heart. Jesus said, "I am come that they might have life and that they might have it abundantly." He came to give purpose and meaning to life through a personal relationship with Him. Until Christ returns we believe God's purpose is that we grow together through instruction in God's word and reach out to others who do not know Jesus.
Our Pastor
Pastor Jerry Conklin is a 1990 graduate of Western Conservative Baptist Seminary in Portland, Oregon. He has served as Pastor at Lewis & Clark Bible Church since June of 1990. Jerry, and his wife, Laura, have four children - Claire, Anna, Joshua, and Carissa.
Our Prayer
It is our prayer that you have trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation, but if not, that you would take this opportunity to evaluate your spiritual condition in view of eternity. If you do not have a church home, consider this your personal invitation to worship with us. Our Pastor and church leaders are available to serve you in bringing comfort, hope, or assistance.
