Next we have the Allow tab. Here you can customize exactly what sites are blocked even if they are allowed by the categories. To Allow an entire domain, such as all of www.integrity.com you will only have to enter http://integrity.com in the Allow bar. If you want access to just one site such as home.integrity.com they you will need to enter the entire url, ex. http://home.integrity.com. You can also Allow sites based on keywords. If you want to Allow any website that has “integrity” in the web address, then simply remove the http:// that is already in the bar and type integrity. Keyword Allows such as this one are limited to 20 characters. The first example allows access to www.integrity.com and every site within that domain. The second example allows access to home.integrity.com only. The last example will allow any web address that has the word integrity in it. They look like this when they have been correctly entered in the filter.
The Deny tab works in the exact same way except the sites entered will be blocked based on the domain, url, or keyword.
The last method of filtering is with Time Restrictions. When you click on the Time tab you get a screen similar to this one.
By default, Time Restrictions are set to always allow access. By clicking on a square, you change its color to red indicating that specific hour of that day of the week is now a restricted time period and no Internet access will be allowed including email. Sites located in the profiles Allow List will also be blocked as well as Instant Messenger programs.
Below is an example of Time Restriction in place. In this example Internet access is denied from 10:00 pm to 8:00 am the next morning. Note that in order for Internet access to begin at 8:00 am, you will need to stop the red squares at the 7. This way, access is blocked up until 7:59 am. If you included 8:00, the access would be blocked until 8:59 am.
